0168 Green star - as built submissions

This full worksection Template, as part of a building contract, is directed to the contractor. It gathers together the administrative submissions required to be made by the contractor, to the principal, for inclusion in a submission to the Green Building Council of Australia (GBCA) for assessment under the GBCA rating tool chosen for the project. It specifies the submissions that need to be made, not the actual work, which is covered in the relevant specification worksections.

0169 Green star - office as built submissions

This full worksection Template, as part of a building contract, is directed to the contractor. It gathers together the administrative submissions required to be made by the contractor, to the principal, for inclusion in a submission to the Green Building Council of Australia (GBCA) for assessment under the Green Star - Office As Built rating tool. It specifies the submissions that need to be made, not the actual work, which is still covered in the relevant specification worksections. The GBCA requirements are included for each relevant NATSPEC worksection.

0171 General requirements

This full worksection Template draws together administrative material which is common to the technical worksections for new work, interiors and for alterations and additions, including services. It should therefore be brought to the attention of subcontractors and others using that material. Each technical worksection includes a cross reference to that effect. General requirements cover topics such as structural design actions, referenced documents, interpretation, inspection and tests, samples and contractor’s submissions, materials and components, bushfire resistance, installation, marking and completion.

0181 Adhesives, sealants and fasteners

This full worksection Template incorporates the commonly used adhesives, sealants and fasteners and provides basic defaults. It is applicable to projects that require adhesives, sealants and fasteners as part of general construction.

0181 SIKA Adhesives and sealants with fasteners

This branded worksection Template incorporates SIKA Australia adhesives, sealants with fasteners and provides basic defaults. It is applicable to projects that require adhesives, sealants and fasteners as part of general construction.

0182 Fire-stopping

This full worksection Template is applicable to the requirements for fire-stopping which flow from the BCA deemed-to-satisfy clauses BCA C3.15 and BCA C3.16.

0183 Metals and prefinishes

This full worksection Template is applicable to aluminium and aluminium alloys, steel, coated steel and stainless steel, copper and copper alloys, brazing, welding, electroplating, stainless steel finishes, anodising, metal spraying and prepainting. It identifies relevant standards for metal alloys and forms, and for prefinishing, selecting default grades in some instances for the most commonly used metals and a variety of shop finishes. There are many relevant standards, but none are central.

0184 Termite management

This full worksection Template is applicable to various chemical and non-chemical systems which may be used, alone or in combination, to provide termite management. The various systems are located together as the effectiveness of the termite barrier relies on the integration of the chosen systems. They may impact on the Earthwork, Concrete in situ, Brick and block construction and other worksections. The core standard is the AS 3660.1.

0184 TERMIMESH termite management

This branded worksection Template is applicable to various TERMIMESH non-chemical systems which may be used, alone or in combination, to provide termite management. The various systems are located together as the effectiveness of the termite barrier relies on the integration of the chosen systems. They may impact on the Earthwork, Concrete in situ, Brick and block construction and other worksections. The core standard is AS 3660.1.

0185 Timber products, finishes and treatment

This full worksection Template is applicable to the certification, durability and quality conformance of timber products. It includes preservative treatments to the AS 1604 series, moisture content and fire rating. State legislation will override some of the provisions of this worksection.

0186 Building IT components

This full worksection Template is applicable to the provision of the various components and elements which make up building services IT systems. For more information on the use of this and related worksections see NATSPEC TECHnote DES 012.

0191 Sundry items

This full worksection Template is applicable to building components that may not obviously belong to a particular worksection, or, alternatively, could reasonably belong to a number of worksections. They are generally small scale proprietary components made from a range of materials, and can be installed in a range of interior or exterior locations. Custom-made items are better located in the appropriate worksection, e.g. Metalwork fabricated for predominantly metal items, or items to be made by a metal fabricator.

This branded worksection Template is applicable to RAVEN door and window seals against a combination of leakages and intrusions without impeding normal use. It should read in conjunction with a separate door by door hardware specification or schedule, prepared for the project to your office documentation policy. The door by door specification may be provided by a nominated architectural door hardware supplier This worksection sets out the seal parameters that should be called up for such a door by door specification.

0202 Demolition (interior and alterations)

This full worksection Template is applicable to the demolition and removal of internal building elements and services from within an existing building.

0310 AFS LOGICWALL in concrete combined

This branded worksection Template is applicable to the use of concrete for building and associated structures together with specialist wall system products by AFS for external and internal use. It combines relevant clauses from the following worksections: Concrete formwork, Concrete reinforcement, Concrete post-tensioned, Concrete in situ and Concrete finishes. Delete material as necessary.

0310 PENETRON admixtures in concrete

This branded worksection Template is applicable to the use of admixtures to produce low permeability concrete for special applications requiring reduction of water penetration through concrete elements. It is suitable for work of a scale or size that does not warrant the use of a separate worksection for each of the different parts of the concrete work. It combines relevant clauses from the ‘Stand alone’ concrete worksections. For large projects, use separate worksections.

0311 FIELDERS KingFlor in concrete formwork

This branded worksection Template is applicable to Fielders KingFlor, possibly in conjunction with other formwork types or systems, for the production of formwork for concrete work in buildings and associated structures.

0341 FIELDERS purlins and girts in structural steel

This branded worksection Template is applicable to Fielders purlins and girts used in conjunction with structural steelwork. Fielders also offer bridging and fascia purlins along with accessories. Fielders purlins and girts are manufactured from Hi Tensile Galvanised Steel to conform with the Australian standard for cold form steel structures. They incorporate the latest computerised technology, coupled with efficiency in production.

0341 GALVASPAN® purlins and girts in structural steel

This branded worksection Template is applicable to purlins and girts made from GALVASPAN® steel used in conjunction with structural steelwork.

0342 Light steel framing

This full worksection Template is applicable to framing for structures generally comprising cold formed metallic-coated or aluminium/zinc-coated steel sections where particular project specific requirements need to be met. It covers residential and low floor, wall roofing and truss framing.

0343 MAKMAX tensile membrane structures

This branded worksection Template is applicable to MAKMAX suspended tensile membrane structures. It covers the supporting structure, tension members, anchorages and foundations, both attached to other structures or stand-alone. It is intended to apply to MAKMAX’s structures and systems which are covered by their details, specification and certification.

0345 DULUX steel protective paint coatings

This branded worksection Template is applicable to the surface preparation of and coating application to structural steelwork or steel products using paint coating systems supplied by DULUX where corrosion protection is appropriate due to climatic or environmental conditions. It can be used for new work and for maintenance painting.

0346 Structural fire protection systems

This full worksection Template is applicable to fire protection systems for building elements where achievement of a FRL is required. They can be specified in prescriptive terms or in performance terms (necessitating contractor-design and testing). The worksection is based on the BCA deemed-to-satisfy requirements in BCA Spec A2.3, and the relevant recommendations of the standard AS 3784.1.

0346 DULUX intumescent coatings in structural fire protection systems

This branded worksection Template is applicable to fire protection systems for building elements where achievement of a FRL is required. They can be specified in prescriptive terms or in performance terms (necessitating contractor-design and testing). 0382 Light timber framing

This full worksection Template is built around the AS 1684 series, as appropriate.  It is applicable to light timber framing, bracing and timber trusses as encountered in Class 1 and Class 10 buildings as defined by the BCA. When using light timber framing in other than Class 1 and 10 buildings compliance with more stringent structural engineering and BCA requirements may be necessary.

0383 Sheet flooring and decking

This full worksection Template is applicable to external timber, composite or compressed fibre cement decking, and to internal sheet flooring of plywood, particleboard or compressed fibre cement as either platform floors or fitted floors. It assumes the provision of a supporting structure.

0383 BGC fibre cement decking and  flooring underlay

This branded worksection Template is applicable to BGC compressed  fibre cement decking and flooring and fibre cement  underlay in conjunction with external timber, composite or compressed fibre cement decking,  and to internal sheet flooring of plywood, particleboard or compressed fibre cement as either  platform floors  or fitted floors.  It assumes the provision of a supporting structure.

This full worksection Template is applicable to conventional door frames of metal and timber with door leaves of timber and various timber and plastic products. Because of the range of products available, performance requirements and design choices, this worksection only covers some key generic requirements.

0455 Door hardware

This full worksection Template is applicable to hardware items such as hinges, keys, locks, latches, furniture and door controllers and provides two alternative types of schedules for specifying these items – selection schedules and door-by-door schedules.

0455 KABA door hardware

This branded worksection Template is applicable to all the hardware associated with doors supplied by KABA Australia Pty Ltd. Door seals are specified in Doors and access panels. It is preferred that this worksection is read in conjunction with a “door-by-door” specification, as provided free of charge by KABA incorporating all facets of hardware, access control, and the security of keying requirements. This worksection sets out the parameters for such a “door-by-door” schedule.

0456 BREEZWAY louvre windows

This branded worksection Template is applicable to BREEZWAY LOUVRE WINDOWS manufactured by Breezway Australia Ltd. consisting of proprietary suites supplied as complete systems, and including installation accessories, such as fixings, flashings, sealants, caulking and weather-stripping, necessary for the satisfactory functioning of the whole.

0458 DOORWAYS-KABA GILGEN automatic doors

This branded worksection Template is applicable to the supply and installation of DOORWAYS-KABA GILGEN Automatic doors for commercial installations including; sliding, swing, telescopic, bi-fold and numerous other models. Some of these models also suit domestic applications for access/egress and wide openings for expanding living and entertaining areas.

0461 VIRIDIAN glazing

This branded worksection Template is applicable to VIRIDIAN glazing in framed openings to windows, doors and curtain walls based around AS 1288.

0462 SIKA structural glazing

This branded worksection Template is applicable to the installation of the following SIKA structural glazing systems:

• Structural silicone glazing in which the glass is adhered to the framing system with a structural sealant.

• Framed, unframed and partly framed glass assemblies including faceted glazing, fin supported glazing, patch plate jointed suspended glazing and point fixed glazing incorporating spider type glass fittings.

• Suspended frameless glass assembly with wind stiffening systems.

0463 Glass blockwork

This full worksection Template is applicable to the following three types of fully framed glass block installation:

• Mortar-jointed: Can take high wind loads and is permanent, so is suited to exposed installations. Panels can be large, and are rigid - resilience under loads derives from perimeter expansion joints.

• Fire-rated: Has the same properties as the mortar-jointed system but offers a one-hour fire rating, with limited panel size.

• Sealant jointed: Can be used for demountable interior partitioning and  smaller external windows, is resilient under load, has thinner joints (and consequently better light transmission) and avoids wet trades.

0467 Glass components

This full worksection Template is applicable to glass products such as shower screens, balustrades and mirrors.

0471 AUTEX insulation and sarking membranes

This branded worksection Template is applicable to insulation and sarking membranes for roofs, ceilings, walls and floors. It is generally specified around AS 3999, AS/NZS 4200.1, AS/NZS 4200.2 and AS/NZS 4859.1. Terrazzo is deemed to comply with the BCA requirements for fire hazard properties (see BCA C1.10).

This worksection Template is a shell. It acts as a prompt and is applicable to the selection and installation of sanitary fixtures. AS/NZS 3500.0 uses the term fixtures generically for all receptacles that discharge into the sanitary plumbing or sanitary drainage installation. It distinguishes between soil fixtures and waste fixtures. A soil fixture includes WC pans, urinals and slop hopper. Waste fixtures covers all fixtures that are not soil fixtures. The reference standards are the AS/NZS 3500 series which are cited in the PCA (Plumbing Code of Australia).
